I was just as upset as anyone on aid not reaching the people. Come to find out...there are a couple of reasons for this.
First, Haiti has no one with any organization skills in power to get the distribution to the people. The US and other countries are delivering the aid but...Haiti has no clue how to get it to the people that need it.
Second, the roads around the airport where the deliveries are shipped in are non-existent. The roads are broken so bad that vehicles cannot drive down them; there are bodies piled on the roadways; there are buildings that have fallen onto the roadways.
Our (US) troups are there to keep the aid and aid workers safe, not to deliver the items.
Once our aid workers leave for the day, so do most of the troups.
Haiti needs a hero.
